Miscellaneous May

He can't wait for the school year to be over so his people don't leave him every day *wink*...

My tulips!!
πŸ’—And the deer even left them alone!πŸ’—

Either Tyler's love of balls has turned to his consumption of them or he has an announcement to make:

Jace commandeered the box that some patio furniture came in and has been sleeping in it every night:
Practicing for in case he grows up to be a hobo??

Tyler's other puppy he loves to carry around:

For Mother's Day, Nathan got me this beautiful dogwood!
I love spring!

Jace told me he hadn't taken a picture holding Tyler in a long time, so I needed to take one:

Jace has told me a few times that he wants sleeveless shirts and tank tops... when I didn't provide the necessary shirts, he decided to take matters into his own hands:

So sweet!

Jace had show-and-tell one day at school and decided to 'bring' Tyler!
Tyler was pretty intimidated by all the kids until they started singing his favorite song, Baby Shark.  Jace found him a basketball and then he just wanted to bring it outside to shoot some hoops.

Sweet pics:

Tyler at Play

Mobility changes everything!  This little boy can NOT get enough of exploring and getting into anything he can get to.  He especially loves balls, basketballs in particular.  I picked up a basketball hoop for him off craigslist one morning and it was like his wildest dreams came true-

He spent at least an hour playing with it in the morning by himself (which is saying something for a 1 year old!) and then hours playing with it with his brothers when they got home from school.

Thanks to the lovely spring we've been having, he gets to explore outside a lot with me- he can climb all the way up into the playhouse by himself (it's a little touch-and-go, but his short little legs manage) and then I run around to the front to catch him come down the slide:

He loves climbing up and sliding down the little slide inside also- I think he just likes doing things 'all by himself'!

Prom

May means Prom!  Bryson asked his friend (and crush) Nicole to their schools Prom.  He bought a package of donuts and put a note inside that said:
Roses are red,
Donuts are the bomb,
Do me a favor,
and come with me to Prom!
After he'd asked her (and she'd said yes!), he found out about 'Mormon Prom'- so he asked which she'd rather go to and she said, "BOTH!"

Nicole's mom and I coordinated colors so they were matchy:

Cute couple!

The doubled with Bekah and her boyfriend Luke:

Dinner at Olive Garden and then they walked around the mall before the dance- Bekah snapped a picture and sent it to me:

So the following weekend, when Mormon Prom rolled around, Nicole had to cancel because she was super sick from getting her 2nd Covid shot- Bryson was bummed and resorted to 'eating his feelings':
Pretty sure it was just a great excuse to get to eat ice cream!

Eleven!!

My sweet, creative, imaginative girl is eleven years old!

She spent so much time creating banners and flags to decorate our house for her birthday- in 'The Lost King' theme of course!

To open her presents, she sat in all her glory on her throne as the peasants her loyal subjects bestowed their offerings to her:

She wanted a lego castle, but I couldn't find on anywhere!  I ended up getting her a 3D castle puzzle that took ME 2+ days to put together... but I loved every minute of it!  I also got her some new robes/cloaks, a crown and some cute new dresses.

She brought Krispy Kreme's in to share with her class and luckily, there were a few left over!

Hailee is one of the most creative girls I know- she has so much going on in that brain of hers! She loves to draw and create. Since most of her creating happens in her bedroom, her room is pretty consistently a catastrophic disaster- and I've just tried to make peace with it. Since the kids only have screen time on Fridays after school and on Saturdays, she knows she her time doesn't start until her room is 'tidy', and though it takes her a while, she gets it done eventually! In general, I just try to avoid her room *sigh*. Hailee has a thirst for knowledge- when she's not reading Harry Potter, her favorite books are educational books- encyclopedias and the like. I love the facts that she spouts out! She loves to role-play as one of many characters from 'The Lost King'- she's often found sporting her duckie bathrobe that she lengthened by taping a black cape to the bottom of (as seen in the pictures above!)
