I can hardly believe that it's already mid-June! Sheesh. I'm so glad to have Bryson home all to myself for a few months before he starts *gasp* kindergarten. He's SUPER excited about kindergarten and I'm just trying to figure out how I feel about it... how can my baby be starting school? I was reminiscing with him the other day about when he was born and he promptly got out his baby book so we could look at pictures- he loves hearing about when he was a baby...
The 2nd to last day of school, his class had a little program- it was too cute-

| Bryson and Mrs. Mackin |
It worked out (to our delight) that Mrs. Mackin got to be Bryson's teacher 2 years in a row since she moved from teaching the 3 year old class to the 4 year old class- we were soooo glad to have her again and will miss her (until Dallin is in her 4 year old class after next year!)
Some funny things she shared with me about Bryson:
They did some assessments for kindergarten readiness over the course of several days... one of the activities was on rhyming- Mrs. Mackin explained that she would say a word, and Bryson was to say a word that rhymed with it...
Mrs. Mackin: run
Bryson: sun [obviously he gets the general concept...]
Mrs. Mackin: sing
Bryson: dance
Mrs. Mackin: fill
Bryson: a can
Mrs. Mackin: let
Bryson: a cat be free [huh?? my personal favorite though *grin*]
Mrs. Mackin: mop
Bryson: drop [at least he finished strong, right??]
On another activity, he had to look at pictures, and say what the first sound in the word was, for instance, a picture of a cat, and he would make the 'cuh' sound... so there was a picture of some shoes- but since 'sh' is a more complex sound, Mrs. Mackin would tell the children they were
tennis shoes- so Bryson correctly identified that the first sound was 't', but, he added, "it also starts with 'sh', which also means, 'be quiet.'"
One day, they were working on learning their phone numbers- there was a handout related to phone numbers with some questions they were asked and their answers recorded... One of the questions was "If I could call anyone, I would call..." Bryson replied, "the police."
