September in Review

Oh how glorious it is to not feeling like puking 24/7!  The morning sickness held on for so much longer than with ANY of my other babies, which I think makes feeling normal all the more sweet.

We are making progress (slow but steady) on our yard!  We had the stairs and huge rocks put in on either side of the house, it looks SO amazing!
And yes, that IS snow on the ground in September... We got our first snowfall this year on September 28th.  Only 5 1/2 months since the last spring snowfall *groan*
The worst part was that since fall had barely started, all the trees still had most of their leaves and so many trees were damaged because of it.  The snow clung to the leaves making the branches too heavy- we had a good number of young tamaracks that bent in half from the weight.  A lot of people lost power, but, back when we had our wildfire fuel reduction work done, the same guy got a contract from Inland Power to clear all the power lines from our road most of the way into town, so we didn't lose power at all!

Uncle Dan came out to hunt and let Jace shoot his gun a few times:
Wildest dreams, baby!

In the evenings, after the landscape workers left, Jace had a heyday on their equipment 😊

Not exactly sure what was going on here... Jace had to basically reuse/recycle/upcycle garbage into something useful.  So he made a bonnet hat.

He was sure proud of it though!

The high school band performed for a fundraiser supporting a charity and it was broadcast on the evening news.  Even though Dallin is in 8th grade, he is in the high school band, so he got to participate...
...but because he's not in high school, Dal didn't get the matching t-shirt on the first day of school, which is why he sticks out in his black hoodie *wink*  Bryson is there somewhere, just not visible.

Arrow of Light

To finish out his experience in Cub Scouts, Eli earned his Arrow of Light!  He has such a great troop and group of friends:

Pinning on the award:

Crossing the bridge:

He thinks the arrow is about the coolest thing ever because it has an obsidian tip.

Court of Honor

The boys had a Court of Honor last week- I love that all 3 of my older boys are in Scouts together!

Eli led the Troop in the Pledge of Allegiance.  He was adorable 💗

Bryson earned 2 merit badges, including Citizenship in the Community, which was the the last holdout for him getting his Eagle.  Never mind that his Eagle project was finished over 6 months ago and he has 27 merit badges OVER the required 21 for Eagle...  His board of review is coming up!

Dallin earned 15 (fifteen!) merit badges, including the rest of the ones required for Eagle, as well as his Life rank.  He basically just needs to be active for the required 6 months and do his Eagle project and he'll be an Eagle!

Gotta love those shorts with his uniform shirt 😂

Eli earned NINE merit badges, which is pretty awesome for his first Court of Honor.

So proud of my Scouts!

Bump Update and It's a ...

 Here's my bump at 11 1/2 weeks!
Wish I could say I was feeling better.  Bleh.  But soon.... hopefully when I feel better, I'll really believe that I'm going to have another baby too!  It still hasn't sunk in...

Everything looking good at my 12 week ultrasound-

It's hard for me to look at these pictures because baby is upside down 😑  But he's growing well and looks healthy!

Since I'm old to be pregnant, I'm high risk for a lot of unpleasant things.  Because of this, my doctor suggested I have a 'non-invasive prenatal screening' done.  It's "non-invasive", because they take a sample of MY blood, separate out enough fetal DNA (it's actually placental DNA) from the sample, and are able to rule out most of the trisomys and several other scary genetic things.  Amazing.  It didn't even exist when I was pregnant with Jace. Because they're looking at baby's DNA, they can also determine the baby's gender!  Nathan was pretty confident that it was going to be a girl...
It's another BOY!!  I honestly can hardly believe it.  The boys were all hoping for a girl I think for Hailee's sake, and Hailee said she wanted a sister, but really I think she only said that because that's what all her brothers were saying. Now that she knows it's a boy, she says she's glad because she'll never have to share her room.  HA HA!!  So happy that everything still looks healthy!
