Run Dallin, Run!!

No, he's not walking, but he is running..... well, his bowels are. So I'm really not trying to make this the grossest blog ever by making bodily excretions be the recurring theme, but this was one for the books... errrr, blog...

So Dallin (and Bryson) have had a little diarrhea the last few days... Bryson though can keep it under control and make it to the bathroom. Dallin on the other hand.... well, he likes to move his bowels when he is sitting... especially in his carseat and/or high chair.  Two days in a row he had a major blowout out of his diaper, out of his shorts, all over the carseat.... once we were on our way to our new house, so my beautiful kitchen sink was christened because it took a little more than just baby wipes.

Anywho, so this morning I was ready to run out the door for our pre-closing walk-thru (yay!!) and Dallin was in his highchair eating his breakfast and suddenly I heard the bubbling and his face was all purple and contorted and his one-piece sleeper was yellow up to his armpits... I couldn't leave that for my mom, so I started to change him, but wipes were NOT going to work, especially with him wriggling all around, so into the tub he went.... crying the whole time because he was hungry! Ugh... the joys of motherhood.  Fortunately while I was giving Dallin his bath, the guy who was doing my walk-thru called because he was going to be a little late 'cause he left something at his office.... it all worked out in the end (no pun intended)...

Don't expect many updates for the next little bit....

We close on our house tomorrow *yay*yay*yay* so I'm pretty sure my blog (among other things) will be put on the back burner for now... I'll post pictures of the house as soon as I get the time....

So much for a puke-free pregnancy...

Sorry everyone if my '...' separating every sentence drives you crazy... It's just my train wreck of thought...

**WARNING** I'm gonna complain here... forgive me...

So I made it to 13 weeks of pregnancy, and while I've felt pretty crummy, I hadn't hurled, which is pretty good, because I HATE to throw up.... it just totally wipes me out. Honestly, the fear of a hurl-fest pregnancy was pretty good birth control for a long time before we had kids... my first two pregnancies were much the same in the first trimester- I quickly learned to respect the hyperactive gag reflex and vomiting could be avoided. So I thought I had it down this time...

I had been feeling remarkably better the last week and a half since I discovered I'm suddenly lactose intolerant (weird!?!) this go 'round.  Since going off milk, I think I've lost 4 inches off my belly-- I was sooo stinking bloated and in more pain than I was sick... ugh. But last night as I was brushing my teeth I left the sink...  and a tiny bit of toothpaste crept a little to close to the back of my throat and I had to hold the gag until I got to the sink and I knew it was inevitable... I did the denial dance for about 3 minutes trying to distract myself and swallow and pretend I was fine, but nonetheless, up it came. No more Mexican food for me for a while... actually, the cilantro was surprisingly fresh the second time around (sorry.... that was gross)...

So I went to bed with (essentially) no dinner and a very empty belly and felt like garbage this morning.... ugh, I HATE to throw up!

Tag I'm it...

Thanks for tagging me Jess, I just KNEW everyone was dying to know the nitty-gritty about Nathan and me *grin*

Okay, here goes...

1. Where did you meet your husband?
Online. Really, no. But Nathan loves to say that, and I tell him he really shouldn't because it's not so uncommon anymore.... Anywho, Nathan and I were in the same ward at Ricks College my Freshman year- I think it was like, his 7th year there *grin* (He was really forward thinking and knew it would soon be a university). He is proud of the fact that we were not FHE-related ('cause he's from Kentucky). He was the ward exec. secretary and so the first Sunday at church he stood and I thought, 'wow, nice suit.'

2. What was the first thing you said to your husband?
Ummmm, probably 'hi?' or 'hello?' I guess? I did run in to him on the street General Conference weekend in October... I was on my way to my boyfriends place and he was with his on again off again girlfriend and of course I knew his name and said 'hi Nathan!' (I was also with a friend from high school who was up visiting for the weekend) and he called me Janie (Jane-EE)... I kinda felt like an idiot, but he thought it was cool running into a couple of cute girls in front of his (soon-to-be-ex) girlfriend.

3.Where was your first date?
Well, just before Nathan was to pick me up for our first date, I got a phone call from his friend informing me he would not be able to make it because he was at the hospital... sheesh, if he gets that nervous... actually, he had busted his lip in a basketball game and had to get stitches. So when we rescheduled, we went to Millhollow in Rexburg for hot cocoa, but Nathan got ice cream... in November... in Rexburg

4. Where was your first kiss?
In an igloo *grin* He and some guys had built an igloo on the basketball court at Sunrise (where he lived) and we were in it talking.... I was laying down and he was leaning on his elbow next to me and honestly, when he kissed me, it didn't even
occur to me right away that he had kissed me because it was that smooth.... he just kind of leaned in and very gently kissed me... it was sweet. But believe me, I've always known when he was kissing me after that one...

5. Did you have a long or short engagement/courtship?
Well, both actually... our first date was November 21st, 1998, and we got serious late January/early February 1999. By conference weekend in April we knew we wanted to get married so we went home to tell my parents the great news aaaaaand they put the brakes on that.  They told us that they wanted us to wait a year. My husband being the southern gentleman he is, agreed. And I cried.  That fall (1999) we found out that since Nathan had graduated in April (after 9 full years at Ricks *grin*) and gone over the credit hour limit for a graduate (like 80 or 90 credit hours), he couldn't take classes the Spring semester (of 2000).... unless we were married. Aha! I thought I had my window, so we decided to move our wedding up aaaaaaand again were denied by my parents (and their stinking wishes *grin*). So we had to *sniff*sniff* spend the spring semester apart, which was SOOOOO good for us.  It was very hard, but so good for us- and I am eternally grateful to my parents for the strength and wisdom it took to tell us to wait. I know our marriage has been blessed for honoring the council of my parents. We got engaged November 20th, 1999 (almost on our 1 year anniversary of our first date) and were (finally) married May 18, 2000 after a year and a half courtship.

6. Where did you get engaged?
Along the banks of the Snake River outside Rexburg, Idaho... Nathan took me fishing (in November!! I didn't know you don't fish in late November!!) and then he started telling me this crazy story about a dream he had had about a girl (I was only 1/2 listenting because I was trying to catch a fish) and how she found some white shoes and that the girl that fit these shoes was going to be his bride and then all of a sudden he had these cute white shoes for me to put on (they barely fit) and it was kind of a cinderella story (because I am a princess).... anyway, he pulled out the ring and asked me to be his bride and I was speechless and hugged and kissed him and he kinda wanted an answer..... well DUH!! I'd only waited a year for him to do this, but apparently a guy wants to actually hear the word 'yes' *grin*

moments after Nathan proposed...
7. Where were you married?
The Spokane Washington temple. It was perfect weather.... I was slightly worried when a week to the day before my wedding it was snowing outside (in MAY!!). But our wedding day was warm and sunny.

8. How did the reception go?
Well, besides my husband puking, I had a great time *grin* Apparently my family wanted to get really close to Nathan in the few days leading up to the wedding, so they gave him a stomach bug... 1/2 my family and extended family was sick at some point surrounding the wedding. Our reception was the day following the wedding, so on our wedding day he was NOT sick (thankfully) but the next afternoon it hit him hard... When he had to keep leaving the reception line to toss his cookies, a family friend patted my hand and said 'oh, he's just nervous'.... ummmm, he wasn't last night!! (sorry mom!). When I fed him our amazingly yummy cake, he swallowed really hard, smiled for pictures, and then literally ran for the bathroom.... what a trooper!!

9. How about the honeymoon?
Bliss. Just being together after 5 months apart was so great! We stayed in a cabin in the woods in northern Georgia for a week... the cabin was so charming with a tin roof that sounded so great in the rain. I had left my camera at my parents, and we had NO idea how much money we had or how much money things cost in the real world, so Nathan wouldn't let me buy a disposable camera.... my only regret!

a change...

If you'll notice my list of 'bloggers that guilted me into doing this' has changed just to 'blogs I visit' because I've added some new blogs that I didn't know existed until I started mine and they then told me about theirs.... but I know that you guys out there know which of you guilted me.... even if it is kinda fun =)

Our Old Kentucky Home--

I love Kentucky so much!! We went for a visit for Nathan's parents mission farewell (they're going to Imman, Jordan on an 18 month to 2 year humanitarian mission). It was such a great time getting to see family and friends...

I'd been curious how Bryson and Dallin would react to being back.... Bryson took it all in stride like he'd never left, but Dallin was off his schedule and thus not his usual happy self.

It was so strange to drive by our old house. Even though I knew it had been rented out, (we even know the new tenants) it was very weird driving by and having someone else living there... actually SEEING that it's now someone else's home was tough.

Leaving Kentucky was much more difficult this time too... it seemed so much more real this time for some reason. When we left in May, we knew we were coming back in August, and leaving this time, we know we're going back in December, which is approximately the same amount of time, but I think the reality of living in Washington is finally setting in. Especially since we're supposed to close on our house next Tuesday!!! Hooray!

I suppose I should update you all on a pretty big detail...

We're preggers!! Yup, yup, #3 on the way, due February 28th. We're so happy it's only #3, instead of  #3 AND #4.... my doctor had me scared because she was very surprised by how big my uterus was and asked if twins ran in my family... and then she made me wait a week and a half until our ultrasound!!! Yikes!

Even though I KNEW I wasn't having twins, the voices in my head were really having some scary discussions *grin* But alas, there is just one sweet little wiggly bean in there. Oh sweet relief!

I can't believe I'm doing this...

I don't have the time to blog, I have plenty other 1/2 started projects, and I surely don't need another guilty pleasure.... so why am I doing this? Because I love all of you and hate that we don't keep in touch! So now (on occasion, depending on how much I update this....) you can nose into my life.... I'm sure you have nothing better to do =)

Truth be told, my friend Jamilee becoming a blogger was the straw that broke this camels back.... I have no idea why, just did!!! So thank her if you can't stand the boring details of my life~~
