No excuse

So we took a trip to Kentucky a few weeks ago. Getting there was one heck of an ordeal. I was a little worried that we hadn't bought a ticket for Eli (he had turned 2 THREE days before... and looks like he's about 18 months) but c'mon- in all our traveling with kids, I'd never been questioned as to my lap-childs age. I was proud of Nathan at his blatant LIE to the lady checking us in when asked his age, he looked her in the eye and coolly said, "22 months." Very unlike him *grin* Turns out him not having a ticket wasn't what I needed to worry about... we had specifically booked our flights with our kids in mind- so as not to leave too early or arrive too late- but airlines will be airlines! The night before we left, we got a phone call saying our flight had been cancelled and I could rebook online. Pretty much the only option was for us to leave the next morning at 5:25am. Nice.

So when we got to the airport, the ticket agent (who Nathan lied to *wink*wink*) couldn't get our boarding passes to print since we had already checked in for our other flight prior to it being cancelled.... it seriously took almost an hour, at which point we had to RUN to make our flight. We were literally the last people on the plane, and lucky us, got to sit in the very last row. The kids didn't mind though, they were so stinkin' excited. Seriously though, how did people do it before portable DVD players??
They were so excited about the airplanes and getting to Kentucky and all, NONE of them slept at all on either of the flights there. Nathan and I were both pretty surprised- at least they traveled really good though- sleep deprived and all.

As soon as we got to Kentucky and situated in the car though, all three were OUT.
Bryson looks comfy, doesn't he?

And that pretty much wraps up our trip as far as pictures go. I know, I am terrible! I can't believe that I didn't take any pictures- I know other people did, but I don't have any copies (at least not right now). We had a great time though- like we'd never left... Nathan's sister Christi and her family flew in from eastern Oregon and his sister Laura from Trinidad were all there too- the whole crew together- so much fun. I love that we can all get together and enjoy each other. The girls all got away for two days to a cabin in the Red River Gorge and bonded- wonderful memories... we played some games and I learned some interesting and shocking things about them *grin* We hiked up to Natural Bridge one of the days... it should not have been as difficult as it was, but c'mon I was 27 weeks pregnant- and feeling it! The hike was well worth it though- the views were absolutely amazing. I can't believe in all the time we lived in Kentucky we never went there!

The only bummer about the whole trip was the weather kinda stunk- all the while in Washington it was warm and in the upper 50's. When we got back, it was freezing here again and warmed up to the 60's in Kentucky. But spring is close... I can feel it... I hope.

Only 10 weeks left?

10 weeks is not much time... and considering that really, it's most likely a lot less than 10 weeks... this baby will be here in no time. Even though this is my 4th-go-round (how can I have 4 kids??) it is so amazing (and shocking) just how huge my belly can get! I can't imagine having twins... or more...

So here I am in all my pregnant glory at 30 weeks... while 10 more weeks isn't much time, it's a LOT of time for me (and her) to grow...
especially considering that right now, she weighs maybe 2 1/2 pounds.

So we recently had a baby in the NICU (I'm still working a day or so a week) who was delivered at term weighing almost TEN pounds *yao-za* and [get this] mom apparently didn't even know she was pregnant!! Seriously, how do you not know, especially at term, with a baby THAT BIG?? And she wasn't a grossly obese woman either! I can understand at 20 maybe even 25 weeks feeling the baby move and thinking it's just 'digestion' or the like, but c'mon!?! This baby girl is soooo stinking active in my belly, much more so than the boys were. Nathan says I've just forgotten (he says that about pretty much anything that I say is different about this pregnancy) but I don't think so... she is moving day and night, all over the place... elbows here, bum there, knees and feet everywhere- the boys think it's pretty cool and love to watch and feel on weekend mornings when they all pile into our bed.

(speaking of which, we got a king size bed in November *b.l.i.s.s.* and I do NOT know how we did it with a [horribly uncomfortable] queen size bed on weekend mornings with all three boys cuddling in- of course I say that because I'm smothered with all three boys while Nathan's got all the room in the world on the other side...)
