August Recap

Just being artsy fartsy with Hailees panties on his head!

The reality of her bed head:

I'm sure my mom said the same thing, but my kids turn into absolute zombies when the tv is on...

Jace with his "chocit ceewo" {chocolate cereal} five-o'clock shadow...

Fun times at the pool...
summer is passing too fast!  While I'm eager to get into our new house, (and have construction be DONE), I'm not ready for school and cold weather *sigh*

And in construction news, by the end of August, we had our foundation complete! Bring on the framing!

Registration!

Got the boys all registered at their new school today!  They've been super excited about the awesome playground there, so we spent a little time playing...

Snails Pace

Initially, things were off to a great start(!!), but due to a very frustrating and lengthy Mexican stand-off between us, our bank and our builder, that all came to an abrupt halt.  Ugh.  The bank had it's procedure and contract, our builder had his procedure and contract and we were caught in the middle. For almost two weeks.  It finally got resolved, and we're going to end up with a very very large garage... so now, slowly, very slowly the hole is getting filled in.

Footing forms:

Our front door all put together:
Can't decide if we're going to stain it or paint it...  I'm tired of decisions.

We certainly had some criteria in selecting land, but having a view really wasn't even close to being a priority.  It's not that we didn't want a view, we just didn't really care about having one... but I'm pretty sure we're going to enjoy having a view...

A few days ago we took a hike with Dan's family through our property and found this gem:

A SPRING!!  And, despite the dry summer we've had, it was running and had plenty of water in it!  Dan is going to set up a wildlife camera to see what kind of 'visitors' frequent the watering hole *grin*

Now that the footings are in, they're starting the foundation forms.  Very.Slowly.

Silverwood

Oh Silverwood.  I really have a love/hate relationship with you.  It is fun, it's just so expensive and exhausting.  The boys had a blast of course, but they got to sleep on the way home =)

This was Eli's "pre first roller coaster" smile:
He wasn't smiling afterwards.  At all.  That one roller coaster filled his quota for the day *grin*

The tilt-a-hurl *bleh*
Nathan was smart enough to not go on it this year.

What is it with kids and being able to spin around and around and not get sick?!?

Other July Happenings...

For the 4th of July we headed down to Vale, Oregon to visit Bob and Christi and and their family.  Emily was even there too.  It's been too long since we've seen any of them and we loved getting away from the stresses at home and enjoying some small town rodeo fun with family *grin*

We even got to participate in breaking the Guinness Book of World Records for the "longest truck parade"- who knew that that was even a thing?!?
It was hot and dusty and a long wait for a short parade route, but it was fun in the back of Bob's truck...

Jace was in heaven watching all the trucks *grin*

Not sure what was going on here:
But that's not too much of a surprise with her!  "Gwubas" {gloves}, a helmet, crazy hair... just a typical day...

My sweet niece Rachel got married...
First niece/nephew to get married!  I remember when she was just a tiny thing, my first niece, she was the cutest.  Love you Rachel, welcome to the family Mitchell!
